While the social networking giant, Facebook, is shelling out $19 BILLION USD to acquire the messaging service it has gone down. It is February 22, 2014, 3PM EST, and it has been down for approximately 2 hours. We have multiple reports confirming the worldwide issues in which a clock is shown next to messages that are being sent. WhatsApp has not commented on the issues but rumors suggest that Facebook is monitoring traffic to see how much stress will be on their servers with WhatsApp's added traffic.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-86718339991328511952012-09-25T13:59:00.001-07:002012-09-25T13:59:52.508-07:00NEW PS3 SLIM v2 SEPT 25 UNBOXING

When Sony re-launched their online service and then Playstation users initiated password resets, Hotmail saw a dramatic, unexpected increase in mails sent from Sony. Unfortunately, these kinds of huge changes in volume are also one characteristic of an email server that has been compromised by spammers. Consequently, Hotmail temporarily refused delivery of emails from Sony’s password reset servers as a defensive response to a potential spam attack.

We have been in discussions with Sony to identify the affected servers and are delighted to report that this issue should now be resolved. It may take a couple of hours for you to receive your password reset mail. If you do not receive your reset mail within a few hours, please request a new password from Sony.

Hotmail and Sony are actively monitoring this situation to help better ensure that all password reset requests go through as quickly as possible.

Thank you"
http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?threadid=4c3f5312-9d6e-4d42-87df-0d87836fc4f4&page=16

So I sent my email early early early Sunday morning and now it is Tuesday afternoon, I still have no recieved the email from Sony to reset my PSN password. I called customer support yesterday and they confirmed it, AOL and Hotmail users are the ones with the issues, and Microsoft and AOL are not releasing all of the emails at this moment. There are numerous threads on the internet all coming back to the exact same conclusion, Microsoft has yet to release a statement or respond to the massive amount of consumers complaining to them.

http://www.nextgenupdate.com/forums/playstation-3-questions/394992-hotmail-live-mail-not-receiving-psn-password-reset-email.html

This is really frustrating, Sony said that they can manually do it for you but that could take up to 14 days!

Okay so now I've realized since its been over 24 hrs, I have to send another email, but now it says "And error has occured" everytime I try to send another request.

Lets see what happens, but I hope to see all of you guys online soon!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-9509942195412421382011-05-16T19:24:00.000-07:002011-05-16T19:32:36.848-07:00PSN Welcome Back ProgramSo this is what we get as compensation for the PSN outage.. Critics constantly at it saying that CoD4’s high standards could not be re-met, but in my honest opinion, Infinity Ward hasn’t just met those standards, but has easily exceeded them. 7 Million sales on day one; continue to read if you want to find out if those sales were deserved.

Pros: Multi-Player has lots of new features, deep story, action packed, rewarding game play, competitive co-op mode, great additions (spec ops).

Cons: Campaign very short (est. 5 hours), blood effect distracting.

Call of Duty 4 left off in a deep story. Modern Warfare 2 picks up in the same spot, this time you are not controlling beloved Soap McTavish, but 5 different characters instead. The campaign is set in many different problematic areas in the world like Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and Brazil. This game even goes to portray a Russian invasion into the United States. Although this has caused lots of controversy among the media, the story could not have gotten any more interesting. There is no doubt you will be deeply engaged in the campaign.

Campaign: 9/10

In Modern Warfare 2, a new mode was introduced. This mode, known as Special Operations (Spec Ops), has a variety of challenges that can be completed with a friend via split screen, with a friend online, and for those lone wolves out there, by yourself.
Spec Ops has added a lot of extra game time, and the challenges are lots of fun. This mode has also introduced a high arcade style factor with things like snow mobile racing. My personal favourite mode is a tower defense style mode; in which you fight off waves and waves of enemies using things provided on your small tower. It is almost guaranteed that Spec Ops will be almost as successful as the critically acclaimed ‘Nazi Zombies’ mode in Call of Duty: World at War developed by Treyarch.

Spec Ops: 9.5/10

Now for the best part: Online Multi Player.
Modern Warfare 1 was famous for many things, the main one being Online Multi-Player. Infinity Ward ever so flawlessly created possibly the most entertaining Multi-Player experiences of all time. Everyone knew that it was not balanced, with things like Grenade Launchers, Martyrdom etc, but regardless of a few errors, it was flat-out amazing. So anyone would ask; How in the WORLD can Infinity Ward make a better experience? Well we don’t know what kind of inhumane methods they may have used, but they definitely managed it. Besides the obvious outrage due to the lack of dedicated servers, the online portion of this game was just amazing. The new kill streaks were awesome, and ingeniously implemented into the game play. Come on, you KNOW you want to nuke it up. A nuclear bomb can be acquired, but only once you achieve a Kill Streak of 25. The Multi Player is very well balanced, different weapons are suited for different players, and there is a gun for everyone. And unlike CoD4, there are no obviously superior guns. Although many will fight that this game is very noob-friendly, I can confirm that even though there are still some perks geared towards noobs, only good players will prevail. The Multi-Player constantly rewards you with new things such as guns, perks, banners, emblems, symbols and kill streaks. There are always more things to look forward to. You can keep leveling; the level cap is 70, and there are 10 prestige levels; so therefore you can level to 70, 10 times. 700 ranks + nuclear bombs = WIN!
All in all, I think this game has taken over crown of best Multi-Player experience.

Multi-Player: 10/10

Graphical Portion (explosions, effects, sounds, graphics):
Modern Warfare 2 has some really beautiful missions. In the mission Cliffhanger, you are in a snowy valley stealthily fighting enemies. The effects of the snow are very amazing, and although the physics are not perfect, they are great. This game, however, can not be compared to the graphics of exclusive PS3 or PC games such as Crysis or Uncharted 2. For a multi-platform game, the graphics are phenomenal. The sounds of this game are really realistic and give you the right feel, and the explosions are beautifully illustrated in this game. The environment (water bottles, garbage) react quite well with the explosions.

Graphical: 8.8/10

Overall:
This game basically is what everyone wanted, Modern Warfare with new features, and everything improved. This is exactly what everyone wished for and more. Despite a few small flaws, this game is amazing. This is definitely a contender for Game of The Year.

Overall Score: 9.4/10 (AMAZING)

Recommended for: Shooter lovers, action loversUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-48680006915720933932009-09-12T13:47:00.000-07:002009-09-12T13:51:57.947-07:00Playstation 3: YLOD IssuesMore and more PS3s seem to be dying.. Especially early ps3 models like the 60GB. Come on Sony, is that how you treat your early adopters? Its a darn hardware issue, and YOU should be the ones paying for this. Xbox 360s red rings issue has probably hurt loads financially. But they are doing something about it. Its time for Sony to step up to do something about this issue. Cheaper fix price? Better warranty? Anything, just help the YLOD victims, poor souls. And good luck sony, as i heard you will be on BBC's watchdog aha.
Add me on PSN ppl: SaK_911Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-53495053811239238922009-08-18T14:55:00.000-07:002009-08-18T14:58:33.208-07:00Sony, PLEASE tell us that there is more to 3.00Yeah yeah, this update is pretty decent.. but where are the features that we are screaming our for? "The Console Killer", "The Gaming Machine with no hardware needed" whatever they call it. To use OnLive for PC gaming you’ll only need the most basic of computers, while those looking to run it through their TV will make use of a “MicroConsole” that contains two USB ports an optical audio input, and an HDMI video port. The quality of the graphics will be dependent on your internet connection speed.
With a 1.5Mbps connection you’ll get “standard definition” visuals, while 5Mbps and above will give you access to 720p high def. Btw, where i live in Canada, it costs $40 dollars a month for a 1mbps connection and $50 for 5mbps.
One reason that this could be hell for some people is the download limit on most Isp's. Some are 40, some 60 and some more. Whatever is happening on screen will need to be downloaded from the OnLive servers, which equals bandwidth, which equals money that you have to pay. So At 5Mbps thats 2.145 gigs an hour. uh-oh. Not only are u using up ur limit when playing online, but you use it up during single player too.
Many places of the world can't even get a 1 GB connection. In Saudi, where one of my family friends live, its impossible to get more than 512kbs unless you use your whole paycheck just for your internet.
Obviously console makers will at the very beginning, completely try to shut OnLive out of the picture. They will rack up exclusives, and try not to let OnLive even get a start.
Okay, you have a decent connection, and your sister goes and watches a youtube video, or someone is downloading something. Now, your beautiful hi def hd system becomes a slide show! IN SINGLE PLAYER!

Oh and one last thing, onlive can only go up to 720p.. They are saying its gonna be good till 2022? Honestly, i have to play 720p till 2022? oh my, PS5 or whatever at 72,000p and im sitting on 720 LOLUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-23858646032033879822009-02-19T13:13:00.000-08:002009-02-19T13:17:28.840-08:00PS3 Firmware 2.70 features LEAKED!???!?!Veteran Gametrailers forum user, Neobara has said this. Is it true? seems almost too good to be, but i have a feeling its true. lets hope :)

Okay, GT, i lurk these boards a lot so i'm going to throw you a bone. Take it or leave it. Anyway, A friend of mine works in an R&D department at Sony and recently let me in on the firmware details for 2.7. If you were disappointed with 2.6, you'll probably like what you're about to hear, but it's still missing some very crucial (and heavily requested) features. Here's a list of the things he told me will be changed:

Friends List:
- Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds.
- Home Integration: Saved Playstation Home avatar photos can be selected as photo ID for Gamer Card/Friends List.
- Trophy number and Gamer Level are listed under Friend names for quick reference.

Gamer Card & Trophies:
- Gamer Card layout has been changed to more closely resemble the Playstation Store aesthetic.
- Past Trophy information can be viewed in detail by selecting "Recent Trophy History" option.
- Newly aquired trophies auto-sync in the background
- Server infrastructure for Trophies has been optimized. Resulting in faster retrieval time for Gamer Card and Trophy information.

In-Game XMB:
- Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seemless in-game experience.
- "Theme settings" options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.
- Internet Browser can now be accessed while in-game.
- Voice messaging and voice chat options can be used while in-game.
- Options that cannot be used in the XMB during game sessions are grayed out (but still selectable) to eliminate user accessibility confusion.

Misc:
- Other slight UI tweaks and enhancements.

Seems like there is still no word on cross-game invites, but i think the integration of Home (as small as it is) into the rest of the Playstation experience is still a step in the right direction. The update is pretty big but he said it would hit sometime in Q2 of '09.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5986929037648415324.post-17315807161610534632009-02-05T17:23:00.001-08:002009-02-05T17:26:03.862-08:00TWO BIG DEMOS: Killzone 2 and Halo Wars<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8NwNZCD2V1U/SYuRRtN9DKI/AAAAAAAAAAU/a40AGvJpaqc/s320/272076_1_hs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299489119913446562" />

Today Halo Wars and Killzone 2 both saw demos in the Xbox live Market place and PS Store, respectively. Why Apple didn’t do this with the launch of the iPhone is beyond me. . .but in any case, the App Store has brought even more attention to Apple’s iPhone(and loads of revenue).

If you’re a gamer, then you probably already know about the VGAs, which will air on Sunday night to reward the best console games of 2008. No matter what Apple wants you to think, the iPhone is not a gaming console. But, even though it’s not a console, that doesn’t mean there haven’t been some great games released in the App Store.

Below I would like to highlight some of the best iPhone games of 2008. With so many games(it is the App Store’s most popular category) it was hard to only pick 10. . .but here they are.

In Bugdom 2 you play as Skip McFly, a grasshopper where you encounter both friends and enemies while you explores the inside of a house and around the yard. The beautiful 3D animation and graphics get you interested. . .and the gameplay keeps you playing. They even have a free demo for Mac OS X users - www.pangeasoft.net/bug2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enigmo was one of the first premiere iPhone games to be released in the App Store. In this puzzle game your goal is to direct the flowing water(or fire) to their own canisters. You get tools to achieve this goal but as the levels go on, the levels get more and more difficult. This is one of those puzzle games that when you first look at a level you think ‘there’s no way I can figure this out’. . .and then it hits you. With 50 levels to play through, Enigmo will keep you busy for hours and hours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uno isn’t technically a ‘board game’ but it is in the category. If you don’t know what Uno is then you’ll probably love this game even more than the people that played it when they were kids. You must play the same color cards. . .or a card with the same number(changing the color). If you don’t have anything to play you have to draw a card until you can. And don’t forget about the wild cards!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wurdle is a completely customizable boggle/word search style game that is easy to pick up and play at any time of the day. You must spell out words by touching letters that are connected to each other(either up/down/left/right and even diagonals). If you think the grid is too small, make it bigger. . .if you think the board is dull, change the tiles. With an online leaderboard you have a goal while you’re playing(besides beating your own high score).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Soccer 2009 is a completely 3D soccer game that was actually released on other gaming platforms along side it. Critics have also said that the iPhone version is much better than some of the others. This is a game that soccer fans with an iPhone(or iPod Touch) have been waiting for. Over 150 teams, a dozen stadiums, and a real-time multi-player mode(over WiFi), it’s hard to get bored with this game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the success of games like Brain Age and Big Brain Acadamy on the NDS and Wii it was inevitable for clones to come out. I haven’t seen either of these hit the iPhone’s App Store yet, but we do have some great alternatives. Brain Challenge isn’t a cheap knock-off either. With original exercises, Brain Challenge gives your brain the workout it needs, and tracks your daily progress too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With casual games flooding the App Store there hasn’t been much room for any of the major genres to shine. Thankfully with games like Vay and Chronicles of Inotia, RPG fans like myself finally get something to play. If you’re looking for an old school action RPG then look no further. With highly polished graphics and well thought out controls you almost forget that you’re even playing a game on an iPhone or iPod Touch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The iPhone is a great platform for all types of games, especially strategy/tactics games. Fieldrunners takes the ‘Tower Defense’ concept, and ‘runs’ with it. With stunning graphics, it really lets you focus in on the most important part. . .the gameplay. Fieldrunners keeps you thinking at all times and makes you stay on top of your strategy. Don’t slip. . .because it could create a crack in your defense that takes you down.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brother in Arms bring the 3rd person shooter genre to the iPhone and iPod Touch. The concept of a 1st person and 3rd person shooter for the iPhone just doesn’t sound like it would play well at all. Somehow these developers were able to port this PS2 game to the iPhone and do it in a way that makes it quite enjoyable. With an aim-assist feature, you don’t have to aim it perfect. . .if you get it close enough the crosshair slides into the correct position. Some think this is cheap, but with the controls it would be insanely hard without it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was one of those games that was initially released for the jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch(at least the demo was). Trism takes the age-old concept of matching the same colors with one another to create a chain(much like bejeweled), but adds flavor to the game to keep it fresh. Instead of squares, it’s triangles, which actually add another layer of strategy to the game. Using the accelerometer to guide the other blocks into place, you can really plan out the perfect move. "Alongside adding support for DivX 3.11 video clips, the firmware update will also let PS3 owners browse the PlayStation Network Store without having to enter log-in information.

Additionally, once the firmware has been installed, players will also be able to download a "Photo Gallery" application.
